Installation:
Goods are sold under the assumption that you have experience installing in your particular machine. RAM Installation instructions for your specific machine are not included. If you are looking for an external hard drive, a good way to get the best quality components that you want is to choose one of our external enclorures, and then install the hard drive of your choice. This will give you one year warranty on the enclosure plus the full hard drive warranty -- 3 years or 5 years -- rather than the typical one year warranty you get on a packaged external drive. An external drive or a network attached sotrage (NAS) drive are the fastest and most convenient ways to back up your data. Owners of Apple's OSX Leopard have TimeMachine software for making backups, which will use a large drive. If you are installing a new drive into your notebook computer, consider getting a 2.5" external case for your old drive. Not only does this allow you to use the old drive for backup or transport, but it make the job of transferring data between the old and new drives much easier. Here's some shareware drive backup and cloning software for Mac and software for Windows to help out. Commercial drive cloning programs for Windows include Acronis Disk Manager and Norton Ghost.
