A Network Attached Sotrage (NAS) drive allows you to set up file storage on your network that can be shared between all of your machines -- and without the expense and trouble of setting up a computer as a file server.
Having a large storage volume on the network is also the fastest and most convenient way to back up your data. You can set up software to back up your workstations daily to the NAS drive, and you don't have to worry about connecting a USB drive to each machine.
